Rhue Road is committed to maintaining the privacy and security of all Protected Health Information (“PHI”) entrusted to us. As a medical billing and healthcare administration provider, we operate as a Business Associate under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”). We follow all applicable federal and state regulations governing the use, disclosure, and safeguarding of PHI.

How We Protect Patient Information

Rhue Road uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of PHI, including:

  • HIPAA-compliant billing, clearinghouse, and practice-management systems

  • Secure electronic communication where applicable

  • Minimum-necessary standards for accessing patient information

  • Business Associate Agreements with all contracted providers

  • Secure handling of claims, ERAs/EOBs, authorizations, and documentation

  • Appropriate storage, retention, and disposal of PHI

  • Ongoing review of internal processes to maintain compliance

Use & Disclosure of PHI

We only use or disclose PHI for authorized healthcare operations, including:

  • Medical billing and claims submission

  • Insurance verification

  • Credentialing assistance

  • Payment posting

  • Appeals and corrections

  • Authorized communication with payers or providers

Rhue Road does not sell, use, or disclose PHI for marketing or any purpose not permitted by HIPAA.

Provider Responsibilities

All providers who engage Rhue Road must maintain HIPAA compliance as Covered Entities and sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) as part of onboarding.
